The Boring Day
Describe a routine day for the average civilian in your world. No drama. No epic battles. The world is not on the brink of disaster. It’s just an average, boring day. You’re not writing from the POV of your hero or villain or sidekicks — it’s the John Smith of your universe, just trudging through another day.
You don’t have to craft deathless prose here. Hell, you can do bullet points if you want. The idea is just to think of what your world looks like to the people on the ground, the people who keep it turning. Which will help you later when your protagonist drives a bulldozer through the whole damn thing!
