South Korea’s first (known) female serial killer! Oh, boy!

Kim Sun-ja had a problem: She was deep in debt and couldn’t get out. Well, it was the eighties, so of course she…poisoned a bunch of people to steal their stuff. And certain Korean cultural taboos made it difficult to autopsy her victims, so she was able to go on poisoning people for years before she was eventually caught.

She was one of the last people executed before South Korea put a moratorium on the death penalty.
