Oh, ’tis the season for awards and award nominations! Want to do your part?
First up, I’m pleased to announce that Boy Toy has been named a finalist in New Jersey’s Garden State Teen Book Awards. Voting runs through January 9, so if you’re a New Jersey resident, feel free to hop on over to the GSTBA site and vote:http://www.bccls.org/gstba/fiction912/
Secondly, the Children’s Book Council (CBC) has teamed up with the good folks at TeenReads.com have teamed up for CBC’s 2010 Teen Choice Book of the Year. You can see a list of nominees here, and vote for your five favorites between now and February 1. If you don’t see your favorite on the list, feel free to nominate your own, as long as it was first published in 2009. I have two books on the nomination list: Goth Girl Rising and Wolverine: Worst Day Ever.
Obviously, I have dogs in both hunts, with books nominated for GSTBA and CBC’s Teen Choice Book. But don’t feel like you have to vote for me just ’cause I’m the one telling you about the awards! Vote for the book or books you think most deserve to win. (It’s not like I’ll ever know if you voted for me or not!)
