Operation Teen Book Drop is a terrific event that the folks at readergirlz, GuysLitWire, YALSA, and If I Can Read I Can Do Anything have teamed up to promote teen reading and teen literature. It’s devious in its simplicity. Basically, on April 15, you just take cool teen books and — like the name impiies — drop them in public places for people to discover. The result? Cool books out there gathering new fans for your favorite authors.
If you want, you can even download, print out, and insert special bookplates in the books so that the people discovering the new books know where they came from.
The best part is that ANYONE can (and should!) participate — readers, authors, publishers, librarians, teachers… Anyone who loves teen literature and wants to spread that love.
