Honest to God, people, when I read this comic, I had no idea what the hell that transition was all about. One minute they’re talking and the next we get a random shot of a messy kitchen? Had the acronym WTF existed in 1981, I would have been wandered the streets with this issue of Justice League in my adolescent hands, muttering, “WTF?” over and over.
Of course, you’re all much more worldly and sophisticated than I was, so you understand that this is a classic technique for implying sex without actually showing it. “Oh, look — no one has cleaned up in the kitchen and things are bubbling over. Wink, wink. Get it?”
I don’t know exactly when I finally twigged to what was happening on that page, but I’m pretty sure it much later than it should have been.
