Every year, whether you need it or not (heck, whether I need it or not!), I post a list of what I consider to be the best books I’ve read in the previous twelve months. I don’t set myself an arbitrary number like ten. If I read a hundred fantastic books, you’ll see a list of a hundred. If I read a single book worth recommending, you’ll just see one.
This year, there are seven. I’ll be blabbing a bit about each one on Instagram, TikTok, and Bluesky, so follow me there if you’re not already doing so.
Here are the seven exceptional books I read that I heartily encourage you to check out…
- Song of Spider-Man by Glen Berger
- Apple in China by Patrick McGee
- Stone Junction by Jim Dodge
- The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton
- When the Wolf Comes Home by Nat Cassidy
- Slow Horses by Mick Herron
- Small World by Tabitha King
