Which B&N?!

I could swear. That looks exactly like the second level of the B&N right next to my school. This wouldn’t happen to have been in Florida would it? 🙂

I think all the B&Ns pretty much look the same. This was nowhere near Florida. 🙂

I have to admit, I am surprised. Not that you would remember given your personal speaking agenda, but we sat next to each other at a luncheon in TN awhile back. I knew you wanted to do a graphic novel but wasn’t expecting you to hit this age group or draw off of the x-men. I read your Graphic Novel Reviewer article but still, it leaves me wondering–why? Your work is always original, edgy and engaging. And as a comic reader were you okay with taking classic illustrations and making them thumbnails? The story is interesting but I am left to wonder if you don’t have another, more original comic/graphic novel still in there just waiting for an illustrator and colorist.

You ask some interesting questions…
Why? Because I was asked to do it and it sounded like a lot of fun. I’m glad you find my work “original, edgy, and engaging” (that’s usually what I’m aiming for!), but sometimes I just like to have fun. Like with the Star Trek story I posted the other day. Wolverine: WDE was an opportunity to flex muscles I don’t usually get to use. Plus, I got to make fun of the X-Men in an official Marvel publication. 🙂
I wasn’t sure how they were going to use the artwork I selected — ultimately, most of the art appeared at sizes similar to its original appearance, so I don’t have a problem with it.
And you BET I have my own graphic novel in me! I have several, in fact. And actually, right now I’m working on some notes and an outline for my very first original graphic novel. So we’ll see if that comes to fruition.
Even if W:WDE wasn’t entirely your cuppa, I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment on it.
