An incomplete web glossary of links to people I like and who claim they like me back. Visit their sites and see if they're telling the truth. Report back on those who are lying.

My friends and colleagues

The internet is all about connections, literally and figuratively. These are cool folks. You should visit them.

  • Robin Brande -- Robin is one of my best friends in the world and a ridiculously talented writer. Her YA novel Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature will be published by Knopf in 2007. Visit her blog, check out what she has to say, and definitely read her book when it comes out!
  • John Hodgman -- You've seen him on The Daily Show and on those ungodly cool Apple commercials: Yale Boy Done Good, John Hodgman! Let me tell you, when I saw him on that first Apple commercial I thought I was having flashbacks to New Haven... (Oh, yeah, John's also the author of the too-funny book The Areas of My Expertise. Actor, commentator, author... I hate him.)
  • Terry Davis -- Terry is the author of Vision Quest, the legendary YA novel. He's also an incredibly generous, witty, and insightful guy.
  • David Levithan -- David is the author of books such as Boy Meets Boy and Wide Awake, as well as the co-author of Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and the upcoming Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List and is an overall great guy and The Man when it comes to organizing cool YA author get-togethers. He's also an editor at Scholastic, but we won't hold that against him.
  • John Green -- His first book (Looking for Alaska) won the Printz Award. His second book (An Abundance of Katherines) won a Printz Honor. Clearly his career is heading downhill.
  • Cecil Castellucci -- Cecil is living the geek dream: Not only did she get to write comics, but her first graphic novel -- The P.L.A.I.N. Janes -- is the lead title for DC's new, mega-hot Minx line.
  • Holly Black -- Don't let the über-goth, dark heroes of her novels fool you: Holly is terrific fun to hang around with, though I'm always careful not to have my back to her for too long -- you never know, right?
  • Carolyn Mackler -- Carolyn wrote The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things, which -- in addition to having a truly kick-ass title (no pun intended) -- was banned in my old home territory of Carroll County, Md. Ah, Carroll County... Bravely marching forward into 1986.
  • KickAss Web Design -- BJ at KickAss designed this site, as well as FanboyandGothGirl.com.
