A Book and a Chat – TONIGHT!

Tonight, I will be the guest on the “A Book and a Chat” Internet radio show, with host Barry Eva. (Two Barrys — no waiting!) The show lasts an hour and you are encouraged to call in with questions! But hey, even if you don’t have any questions, be sure to tune in anyway — it should be lots of fun!

The show is located at: Click on over and give a listen. Then call in to heckle me. C’mon — you know you want to. 🙂

Teen Authors Read Night!

On Wednesday, November 3, I’ll be participating in the venerable Teen Authors Reading Night at the Jefferson Market branch of the New York Public Library (a convenient hop, skip, and a jump from the F train, y’all!) The event begins at 6:00pm and will include yours truly (reading from Archvillain) as well as:

Rachel Cohn and David Levithan (Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares)

Sarah Beth Durst (Enchanted Ivy)

Lena Roy (Edges)

Kieran Scott (She’s So Dead to Us)

Scott Westerfeld (Behemoth)

Now, let’s face it — you don’t want to see me. But you DO want to see these other folks, right? So show up to see them and let me fantasize that you’re there for me. Everyone wins!

The address:

425 Ave of the Americas
New York, NY, 10011

Be there!

Houston Public Library Webinar

If you missed my webinar hosted by the Houston Public Library (and shame on you if you did!), but still want to witness a full hour of yours truly blathering on and on about everything from censorship to first kisses to movies of my books, check it out right here:

Join Me for an Online Seminar!

This Friday, I’ll be giving an online seminar through the auspices of the Houston Public Library…but you don’t have to be in Houston or even in a library to take part. Thanks to that magical gadget called “the Internet,” you can participate anywhere there’s a computer.

Basically, I’ll give a little talk and then I’ll open the floor to questions. So if you’ve ever wanted to ask me something in person (well, as “in person” as online video gets!), then here’s your chance!

The seminar begins at 5:30pm Eastern time on Friday, October 15. You can watch the seminar at this link:

Bring your questions, and log on!

NYC: The Bay Academy

A couple of weeks ago, I took a ride down to Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, where I was pleased to sit on a panel at I.S. 98, The Bay Academy, a middle school for creative, artistic kids. I was invited there by the school and by the organization PENCIL, to sit on a panel in front of some 600 students and talk about writing. It was a pleasure for many reasons, not the least of which was that a fellow panelist was none other than Paul Levitz, legendary author of my favorite childhood comic book, Legion of Super-Heroes.

Also on the panel was Phyllis Ehrlich, former editor of Disney Adventures magazine, while Phyllis’ husband Joel acted as moderator. We all had a great time, and the kids were terrific. Here are some pics from the day…
