What a coincidence, eh? Because here it’s December and I’m talking about Shades of December.

OK, it’s not a coincidence. I planned it. Sheesh. You ruined my holiday cheer.

Shades of December is not the first or only organization to refer to “a home” for one’s writing, but for some reason, it struck me as strange today when I saw it. Because… Why do stories need homes? And then I started to think: Maybe this is why we writers get so upset by rejection letters. It’s not the rejection itself — it’s the thought of all those homeless stories, cast out on the streets.

Yeah, that’s gotta be it.
