Regular readers of the BLog know that my love for Apple products is measured in megatons. And my devotion to the One, True God of Music (known most often by his mortal name, “Bruce Springsteen”) is deeper and longer-lived than even my considerable Applephilia.

So imagine the paroxysm of gibbering joy that commenced when I came across an article discussing the similarities in philosophy between The Boss and Steve Jobs (known in some circles as The iBoss).

Blogging for Forbes.com, Carmine Gallo draws important comparisons between the two gentlemen in a piece I sorta, kinda wish I’d thought of first. In any event, he breaks down their common elements into four key concepts:

  • Do What You Love
  • Put a Dent in the Universe
  • Obsess over the customer experience
  • Eliminate the clutter

Uh, can I get an “Amen?”

Gallo is writing for and to entrepreneurs, but I believe his distillate of Jobsian Bossism (TM Barry Lyga LLC, patent pending) is applicable to a broad swath of vocations, including, of course, the Writing Life. Check out the entire blog post (it’s short, I promise) at Forbes.com.
